Celebrate Yom Yerushalayim

Yom Yerushalayim the day that commemorates the re-unification of Jerusalem following 2000 years of foreign rule that prevented us from praying at our most Holiest site– The Temple Mount and Kotel– is on the 28th of Iyar 5773 (8th of May  2013). After the fierce fighting of the 6-Day War, soldiers entered the Gates of the Old City of Jerusalem, quickly followed by Jews who had waited their entire lives to finally stand close to the place where the Shechina can be felt at its strongest, site of our beautiful Beit HaMikdash, and offer up their heart-broken tefilah of praise and thanks. The sound of the shofar pierced the air already charged with unbounded emotion.
